Tested locally since 2016, then on its entire fleet in 2018, Costa Crociere’s “4GOODFOOD” program allows the company to reach the food waste reduction objectives set by the United Nations for 2030, in 2020.

At the third edition of the Business Performance Awards, Georges Azouze, Executive Manager France of Costa Crociere, received from Corinne Caillaud, journalist at Le Figaro, and Marcello Albergoni, Country Manager of LinkedIn Italy, the Sustainable Performance Award.

Menus based on local and sustainable agriculture.

It offers menus designed from seasonal products, grown locally (15% of food of local origin), raising awareness of responsible consumption. Thanks to this initiative, humanitarian projects have developed in Africa to (re)discover local gastronomy.

A solidarity initiative

Following the promulgation of an Italian law against food waste in 2016, Costa Crociere has set up a redistribution unconsumed meals to associations at each stop of its liners in all ports of the Mediterranean and, since Christmas 2018, also in the Caribbean (Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France).

Costa Crociere is the first cruise operator in the world to implement this approach, which convinced the jury of the third edition of the Business Performance Awards to showcase the initiative by awarding them with the Sustainable Performance Award.
